SquidNotes

In April 2007 my brother Jay called me while manually copy-pasting together a team-wide farewell card for an employee at a remote office…I thought, “Surely there is an easy service that lets someone start and circulate an online group greeting”; with none found, the quest began to create one.
Early on, Stanford campus provided a great opportunity to test this strange idea on classmates. Soon, friends chipped in and sent cards to each other, to friends, and to family. We even sent class-wide thank-you cards for our favorite professors.
We dubbed the product “SquidNote”… it seemed memorable, happy, and somewhat related to many hands and signature ink.
Soon, SquidNotes started to do amazing things… In Denver, an office celebrated the birth of their teammate’s first child. In Milwaukee, a church choir wished “get well” to a member who had fallen ill. Around the world, birthdays and congratulations were greeted by vast groups of family or friends.
Today, as more and more people use SquidNote to share sentiments, we are humbled by the creativity, fun, and meaning in each contribution made. We are inspired by how SquidNotes bring people together and how good they make people feel.
